Business Builder Grants are designed to support small to medium-sized food and farm businesses, focusing on those that are underserved or have been in operation for less than 10 years.
The grants offered are divided into competitive and non-competitive awards.
- Competitive grants are available once per year through a request for applications process, open to businesses across the Heartland region.
- Non-competitive grants are offered on a rolling basis and accessible through technical assistance providers such as our TITC team, aiming to support businesses without the need for a competitive bid.
Our initiative emphasizes equitable distribution of funds, prioritizing projects that incorporate local agricultural products, serve food deserts or underserved communities, and are operated by or in support of tribal communities.
